Clean the chicken and remove any giblets. Pat the chicken dry completely.
Make slits in the chicken
Make the marinade by mixing all the ingredients mentioned above.
Rub the marinade on the chicken, making sure to fill in the slits too.
Cover the chicken and refrigerate it for at least 4 hours or for best result leave overnight.
Do not preheat the air fryer.
Place the chicken BREAST SIDE DOWN in the air fryer basket.
Set on "Air fryer" setting at 350°F for 20 minutes.
Then using tongs, flip the chicken and continue air frying at 350°F for 20-30 minutes more.
If using a meat thermometer, the internal temperature should read 165°F.
Remove the chicken from the air fryer basket and let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting.
Serve with your favorite sides.
